Born in Trois-Rivières (Québec, Canada), Martin Leclerc found his passion at 8 years old and everything he did was towards reaching his goal of being in the movie and TV business. After he started as an actor, having roles in TV shows, musical, improv and plays, he fell in love with creating during a film production class. ‘’Le ciel de la souffrance’’ was the first short film he wrote, directed and produced, winning 4 prizes at the College Lafleche year end festival. From that moment on, scriptwriting became his number one talent, writing a dozen screenplays (5 features and 13 shorts).

To develop his directing, producing and management skills, he pursued at Concordia University a bachelor degree in Film Production, the best program in that field in Canada at the time, and a Master’s Degree in Project Management at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. This helped him to be ready for the 2 feature films he wrote, directed and produced. His debut, ‘’Souffle D’Ailleurs’’, created with Thomas Schneider in 1998, had his première at Le Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québecois, before having a theatrical and video store release, culminating with a TV broadcast. His second feature, ‘’Martin Clear : the whole story’’ (2008), was a true one-man show and won 3 awards on the festival circuit (Washougal, Mexico and Indie Fest) before a theatrical release in Quebec.

Professionally, Martin worked for more than 15 years in television as a director and/or producer in about 500 hundred documentaries, live broadcast, varieties, news coverage and series. (See demo reel)

Martin is now working again with Thomas on their first series for streaming. All the episodes for ‘’The sleeptaker’’ are completed and they just started the development phase, hoping to start production in 2026.
